We don’t grow American Beautyberry in our edible forest garden at the Leon County UF/IFAS Extension office, but maybe we should They’re not only beautiful with their bright purple berries showing off at this time of year, but they’re a good source of food for birds and other wildlife including humans A lovely jelly can be made from the berries as well as from unlikely candidates such as Pindo palm dates, elderberries, Roselle and other assorted wild fruit.
