We enjoyed an amazing turnout of visitors to the garden and MGs who provided a rich and fun experience to the approximately 125 visitors!! Roselle tea, compliments of Peggy, was enjoyed by most visitors. They were fascinated by the beautiful tropical hibiscus and wanted to learn more. At least 50 North Florida Vegetable Gardening Guides were given away to happy, enthused gardeners and gardener wannabees. The wannabees are going to soar given the comprehensive and beautifully presented information they now have in their hands! Every aspect of the garden was highlighted and enjoyed.
There were many young visitors who received special attention and clearly enjoyed their experience with veggie gardening. Apalachee Beekeepers were on hand and had local honey to sell. The interaction of the bees in our nearby apiaries and the flowers of all our vegetables, herbs, pollinator flowers, and nearby "weeds," like horsemint, have resulted in a great story and delicious honey.
VegHeadz and Visitors alike can share your experience I addition to my to my overview, (by adding a comment) if you want to. I know each and every MG who volunteered as a host and visitors who spent in-depth time together have much to share.
Many new crops are in and the newly improved irrigation array is in operation. Our chop and drop method impressed many a visitor. At any time now, you can chop and drop the remainder of the cover crops and plant veggies. Or, just chop, drop, and mulch if that suits your area better!
Please share your Farm Tour experiences with those who did not attend, perhaps by gathering around the Sharing Table. Will one or two of you make a point of noting any shared experiences for the good of the entire group? Also, I will be happy to receive emails, texts, or phone calls with highlights of your experience with visitors. We can both learn from this input and know that our efforts brought joy!
