Stinkbug Larva |
After mashing stinkbug eggs and larvae for a couple of weeks (yuk), I only saw one stinkbug on my eggplants today and the plants look like they are finally gaining some ground. To help them along, I sprayed a bug repellant I read about in Organic Gardening -- 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons witch hazel, and 2 drops of liquid dishwashing soap. Pour into a spray bottle and spray leaves and fruit. I sprayed eggplants, peppers and tomatoes. While I didn't see any bugs on the tomatoes, there were track marks on several of the fruit showing that the little pests had been piercing and drinking. Sure would love to have a really good tomato sandwich!
