The Rewards of a Garden

When the Second Harvest Garden managed by Laurie Jones closed, many of the plants were transplanted to the Demonstration Vegetable Garden.  Received this from Laurie today:

"I spent time in the garden yesterday composting the last of the Second Harvest plantings (sad face).  But, I just happened to be there when a van of mentally disabled adults pulled up. I was so gratified to be able to share our thriving green growth, along with a few strawberries and peas, with that most appreciative group.  So, thanks to you all!"

And thank you, Laurie, for reminding us that there are many opportunities to share our joy in gardening.
