iGrow Garden on Dent Street In Frenchtown |
Elder Charlotte Ivy who with her husband Elder Archie Ivy, operates the “Sowing Seeds—Sewing Comfort ministry, tends gardens in a number of places around town. I spent some time this morning at one of them on Dent Street—the iGrow garden started by Nathan Ballantine, the man in Overalls. Volunteers were mowing, weeding, and planting seeds for spring crops. I joined a group from St. Paul’s UMC under the auspices of Tallahassee Green Faith Alliance to sow seeds in cells for growing tomato seedlings. It was a cool, foggy morning and it was a pleasure to join others to work on growing food for those who need it.
