Pumpkin Place Community Garden in the Background
A new community garden on Leon County property has been approved and organizers are working with Kathryn Ziewitz, Leon County Sustainability Coordinator to get a community garden grant and necessary improvements installed.  Organizers Frank Voran and Nick Martin met today with Kathryn, Extension Agent Trevor Hylton, and Master Gardener Janis Piotrowski to discuss plans for the garden.  Pumpkin Place is located at the corner of Harriet Drive and Ruth Street in Lake Jackson Heights.  The address is 2002 Harriet Drive, Tallahassee.

Some neighborhood residents are already gardening on the property, but there has been a lot of interest in the project and more gardeners are expected now that final approval has been obtained.  Anyone interested in gardening there can contact Frank Voran at frankvoran@hotmail.com.

Good luck Frank and Nick and all the new gardeners at Pumpkin Place

  1. I am looking forward to contributing to the community garden. If there are other participant who would like to share ideas with me please email or call me. bkbatts@aol.com I helped start up the neighborhood crime watch. The community garden is another great way to get the neighborhood together.
